Straight teeth and a revitalized smile may no longer need to come from a mouth full of unattractive wire and bracket braces. Enhancing self-esteem and physical confidence, Clear Aligners offer an esthetic and barely visible alternative to conventional wire/bracket braces.
Clear Aligners are designed for teens and adults but are not recommended when baby teeth remain. Children faced with orthodontic problems will require traditional metal braces with brackets/wires on the front of the teeth. However, only your dentist or orthodontist can determine if you are a candidate.
Clear aligners (including such brands as Invisalign and ClearCorrect Inc.’s ClearCorrect, which Dental Hub offer) are a series of clear, removable aligners custom-fit to your teeth to provide virtually irritation-free treatment with minimal adjustment discomfort. Clear aligners are nearly invisible, minimally invasive and resistant to clouding from wear. With clear aligners, there are no brackets to come off or wires to break and poke. Clear aligners can be removed for eating, drinking and special events, making it easier to brush and floss.
Clear aligners are made after a dentist takes three-dimensional impressions of your teeth and sends them to a manufacturer-specific laboratory that fabricates your custom-fit clear aligners using computerized technology. These aligners are then sent to the dentist to be tried on and evaluated for suitability. Clear aligners are provided in sets. The number of aligners will depend on your specific orthodontic problem. You will wear each new aligner set for a specified amount of time, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss. With each new aligner set, your teeth slowly adjust and gradually realign to your desired smile. At periodic visits, the dentist will provide the next aligner set and evaluate your progress throughout treatment. Revision aligners are often requested at the end of the first series of aligners to correct any unfinished detailing.
2 TYPE OF CLEAR ALIGNERS
What is ClearCorrect®?
Instead of relying on metal brackets and wires to move teeth, ClearCorrect® braces use a series of clear aligners to move teeth into place. The aligners are made of a clear and comfortable plastic that looks similar to a full retainer. By taking care of them and refraining from scratching their surface, aligners will remain clear and virtually invisible when worn. At Dental Hub, we can show you how to keep your aligners in perfect condition during the treatment process.
The aligners are created using an impression of your teeth and gums. Once received, the lab will create a series of aligners that start with the current position of your teeth and slowly move them until they are perfectly straight. A patient will wear each aligner for about four to six weeks. Afterward, the patient will replace the old aligner with the next one in the series. The aligners place pressure on specific teeth to gradually move the teeth for a more comfortable experience. By wearing all of the aligners in the series, your teeth will move from crooked to perfectly straight.
The aligners are given to you at the beginning of the procedure so that you do not have to visit our office every time that you need to switch them out. This allows you to spend less time in the dental chair than you would when wearing traditional metal braces.
ClearCorrect® vs. Traditional Braces
Traditional metal braces are extremely effective for straightening teeth and treating misaligned jaws. While metal braces are more comfortable than they were in the past, they are still noticeable and unfavorable to many. With the wires, brackets, and rubber bands, traditional metal braces can negatively impact the way that a person looks and feels. Many people find that traditional braces are distracting and do not fit into a busy or professional lifestyle.
Simultaneously, metal braces are difficult to keep clean as food can become stuck between the brackets, requiring a special floss to remove the bits of food. At Advanced Dental, we can help patients receive the necessary treatment without having to drastically change their diet or skip out on some of their favorite treats when wearing braces. While only temporary, this can be inconvenient and at times, frustrating. Given the tendency for food to become stuck, those wearing braces, also need to spend more time brushing and flossing throughout the day.
ClearCorrect® is a far more convenient option than other methods for straightening one’s teeth. Patients remove the aligners themselves when eating, so there are no restrictions on which foods you can eat. Patients also do not have to worry about something becoming stuck in the brackets or the embarrassment of feeling awkward while eating. Patients wear ClearCorrect® for at least 22 hours per day, leaving plenty of time to enjoy a romantic dinner, business meeting, or lunch without metal braces ruining one’s confidence. This makes it possible for patients to maintain their current lifestyle without any further restrictions.
Another advantage of ClearCorrect® braces over traditional ones is that patients can remove the aligners while playing sports, a musical instrument or singing in the choir. As a dentist, we recommend that athletes wear a mouth guard during practice or a game. With braces or other teeth-straightening products, this can be an issue. With ClearCorrect®, patients can remove the aligners to wear the mouth guard.

What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a method of straightening teeth that is practically invisible. Patients are fitted with easy to use, transparent, and removable aligners specifically designed for their teeth. The result is straight teeth without braces, and an improved smile.
How Invisalign Works
The Invisalign process uses a digital scan of your smile to create a 3D replica using our state-of-the-art treatment software. The doctor then makes adjustments to the 3D image, creating a smile that is properly aligned, one tooth at a time. This information is then transferred to Invisalign laboratories, where your aligners will be made.
Each set of crystal-clear aligners will gently guide your teeth into a desirable position. The doctor carefully oversees the process to make changes as necessary. As you progress onto the next set of removable aligners, your teeth are guided even further along. Step by step, the aligners reposition your smile using mild pressure without the use of bulky appliances. Once you’ve reached your final set of aligners, you will have the straighter smile.
Who Makes a Good Candidate for Invisalign?
Invisalign is designed for teens and adults that have all of their permanent teeth. Additionally, Invisalign may not be the right option for some patients, depending on the severity of their particular issues. Dr. Juveria will be able to determine if a given patient is a good candidate for Invisalign.
Using Invisalign, the doctor is able to correct a number of aesthetic and functional concerns, such as crowding, overbites, crossbites, and more. He may even recommend Invisalign for patients who suffer from TMJ pain or disorders due to an unhealthy bite relationship.
Being an Invisalign patient requires a commitment to wear the aligners as prescribed. Forgetting to change them out or wear them an adequate amount of time each day will prevent progress. Fortunately, most patients of Dental Hub are committed to their home care instructions, providing them with successful results every time.
In most cases, Invisalign allows us to eliminate* the need for traditional orthodontic therapy, yet provides identical results. Even more complex situations can successfully be treated with Invisalign in a minimal amount of time.
The best way to determine whether or not you are a candidate for Invisalign is to schedule a visit with the doctor. Together in our private consultation suite, you will discuss what corrections can be made, as well as the estimated duration of your treatment.
Generally, Invisalign can help with:
- Crowded teeth
- Gapped teeth
Invisalign vs Conventional Braces
With Invisalign, the doctor can transform your smile’s position, alignment, and function. Patients of Dental Hub find that Invisalign is a much more comfortable alternative to conventional orthodontics, providing them with more freedom and flexibility throughout their normal daily activities.
Wearing fixed braces can make it difficult to keep your teeth as clean as they should be, which frequently leads to unwanted complications like “white spots,” gingivitis, and increased tooth decay. Choosing Invisalign means you can straighten your teeth without the added burden and maintenance of metal braces.
Because each set of aligners is custom molded to fit around your individual teeth, you will not have to worry about irritation to your lips or cheeks. The thin aligners refrain from interfering with speech or smiling, almost as if you weren’t in braces at all.

QUESTIONS ABOUT CLEAR ALIGNERS?
FIND ANSWERS TO THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT DOES CLEAR ALIGNERS TREAT?
Invisalign & ClearCorrect is successful at treating a wide range of issues, such as crowded teeth, overbite, underbite, gaps in teeth, crossbite, and open bite, or just to generally straighten teeth. Leaving any of these issues untreated could pose risks to overall oral health, which is why a cost-effective, minimally invasive solution like Invisalign is desirable to so many people.
HOW LONG DOES CLEAR ALIGNERS TAKE?
The average treatment time is usually less than one year, but it depends on the extent of the crowding and if there are any underlying complex bite problems. In general, it is twice as fast as conventional braces. The reason it varies is because Invisalign & ClearCorrect are a totally custom solution, and the treatment plan is completely centered around each individual’s needs.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Much like how the length of treatment time varies due to each individual case, the cost of treatment varies as well. But compared to the cost of traditional metal braces, Invisalign and ClearCorrect are always going to be more cost-effective because it takes less time and requires fewer office visits. Plus, the advanced technology allows for greater precision and efficiency during treatment, which results in not only a cost savings but a more pleasant experience for the patient.
HOW IS A TREATMENT PLAN MADE?
It starts with a 3D digital smile scan to assess the individual needs and determine if Invisalign or ClearCorrect is the right solution. From there, our dentist at Dental Hub works with Invisalign’s or ClearCorrect teams to design the best treatment plan. Then, your custom aligners are created.
ARE CLEAR ALIGNERS EFFECTIVE?
Invisalign & ClearCorrect are extremely effective at treating a variety of issues. It is perhaps the most effective orthodontic treatment on the market today. Since Invisalign was the first clear aligner system on the market, and due to continual improvements to the technology, it remains the most effective treatment option for most individuals. ClearCorrect is right there with ever improving technology and manufacture aligners in the US which provides a quick turnaround.
